About Los Angeles
The Port of Los Angeles is a major seaport located in San Pedro Bay, approximately 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles in the San Pedro and Wilmington neighborhoods. It is the busiest container port in the United States and serves as a major gateway for international trade, handling furniture, automobile parts, apparel, electronics, and other goods. The port occupies 7,500 acres with 43 miles of waterfront and adjoins the Port of Long Beach.
